My name is Makayla. I'm glad you are here!
I was born and raised in Colorado. I grew up in Fairplay (Southpark) and lived there until moving to Fort Collins to go to CSU. That is where I met my wonderful husband and got married shortly after graduating. We love Northern Colorado and have been here ever since. I am now a mom to two precious girls and am so grateful to be able to spend my days with them.
My Story
My own pregnancies opened my heart in a new way. During that time, I discovered how much I love learning about pregnancy, birth, and the incredible way God designed women's bodies. This is what inspired me to become a doula and ultimately led me to start First Light Doula Services.
Light is a literal and symbolic representation of so many beautiful concepts. It represents beginnings, goodness, and trust, especially in seasons that can feel uncertain or overwhelming. Pregnancy and birth can hold both joy and vulnerability, Steady, compassionate, and confident support can help bring clarity and peace during this time. The name, "First Light Doula Services" is rooted in Ephesians 5:8: "for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light."
As a doula, my heart is to help you feel informed, encouraged, and deeply cared for—so you can step forward in confidence. Thank you for considering me to walk this sacred season with you. It would be a privilege to serve your family.
